Happy January!!

Well, we started our New Year with shrimp and steak kabobs @ The Melton's. Michael had to work that next morning, so he came and ate, then went home to bed! Party Pooper!
Then that next Sunday he left us for a week. He had what is called POST, in Macon. It is a furthering education course. He gets to know more things and make more money!! Yay! So that was a long week without Daddy!
We still had fun without him, thanks to the snow!!! We got almost an inch!!! You northerners won't understand, but all my Florida people do! We played in it both Thursday and Friday! Caden had a blast! He just walked everywhere! And we slid down a hill, redneck stlye, on a cardboard box! Great fun!
Well that is it so far for January! We are ready to see what God has in store for us this year! We don't have too much planned, except for @ the end of the month, I'm going to Demorest, GA, for a ladies retreat. This will be my first time leaving Caden for the night! I'm not thrilled about it, but I have decided that I need to get away and I will have a blast with all the ladies from church!
I will try to keep you posted as things happen!

~Enjoy~

One Step Closer

2013 I don't even remember where I left off.  August I started back to work.  I am working at the school where the kids go.  I feel like I blinked and three months went by.  Adding another one to our everyday - makes us feel so much busier.  So with that being said that is why, again, I am behind on our updates! 10/26 I met with our caseworker this week, finally. Saturday she came to our house to do our final step of our Home Study.  She just had to legally say our home was safe for us to adopt.   This week our attorney should be getting the parental surrender of rights from her mom.  That will give us the go ahead on getting everything legal so we can be her legal parents.  Halloween and Caden's birthday are both coming up so we are gearing up for both of those.  I made the kids costumes this year.  They are going to be Peter Pan and Tinkerbell.  They are going to be so adorable!  Caden wants so bad to h...

Home Study. Step 1

We had our first step of our home study at the end of May.  Home study, like I have said before is 'home study' is an adoption term. I am learning them as I go. Some I still don't get. Home study, I only know step 1. I will learn as we go. Part 2 is our individual meeting.  We went and met with our, I guess she's called a case worker, on Thursday afternoon before we headed to the beach for Memorial Day weekend.  We met at a local restaurant, on the patio. It was so relaxed. I was a little nervous. Telling someone you had never met your dreams and about your 'history'. She stated that by the end she will know way more about us than we want her to know. We just talked a little bit about what we had in mind, and she went through a page and a half of 'to-do's'.  We have to get lots of documents, certificates, questionnaires, letters, physicals, fingerprints, verification's, photos of us and our home, etc.  We have no deadlines so that makes things...
