December is my favorite month, not because it is cold, but because I love having excuses to eat really yummy food and hang out with my family. I have the best family in the world. Some times I take for granted just how wonderful they are to me!! This past Sunday we went and picked out of Christmas tree. We, included M's family. It has been our tradition to go pick out a real tree and I could not wait for C to join us in doing that. The past two Christmas', he wasn't old enough to really understand. This time, all he said was 'Whoa, tree Mommy', 'Whoa, ights!'. He was so excited! Then once we were able to put the tree up and decorate it-He loved that too! He said 1000 times, 'Thank you, ights Mommy' and 'Thank you, ights Daddy'. I put the lights on the tree and M put the lights on the house! He was so excited. The first ornament he wanted to put on the tree was a deer. 'Shoot, dea' (shoot deer) That's what he says...every time he sees a deer. (thanks to his redneck Dad and Uncle Mack) The next one was a 'ticky' a.k.a. fishy. We have a little inflatable Santa just outside the door, and he loves looking out the window and he says 'Ho Ho Ho'. He loves seeing snow on tv! I just love, love, love seeing him so excited about this all. I have our Willow Tree Nativity on the mantel, and he says, 'Mommy, Daddy?' And I tell him, 'Yes, that is Jesus' Mommy and Daddy'...then he says 'Yeah'. I can not wait until he understands the real meaning of Christmas.
We had our first step of our home study at the end of May. Home study, like I have said before is 'home study' is an adoption term. I am learning them as I go. Some I still don't get. Home study, I only know step 1. I will learn as we go. Part 2 is our individual meeting. We went and met with our, I guess she's called a case worker, on Thursday afternoon before we headed to the beach for Memorial Day weekend. We met at a local restaurant, on the patio. It was so relaxed. I was a little nervous. Telling someone you had never met your dreams and about your 'history'. She stated that by the end she will know way more about us than we want her to know. We just talked a little bit about what we had in mind, and she went through a page and a half of 'to-do's'. We have to get lots of documents, certificates, questionnaires, letters, physicals, fingerprints, verification's, photos of us and our home, etc. We have no deadlines so that makes things...
