It's December!!

December is my favorite month, not because it is cold, but because I love having excuses to eat really yummy food and hang out with my family. I have the best family in the world. Some times I take for granted just how wonderful they are to me!! This past Sunday we went and picked out of Christmas tree. We, included M's family. It has been our tradition to go pick out a real tree and I could not wait for C to join us in doing that. The past two Christmas', he wasn't old enough to really understand. This time, all he said was 'Whoa, tree Mommy', 'Whoa, ights!'. He was so excited! Then once we were able to put the tree up and decorate it-He loved that too! He said 1000 times, 'Thank you, ights Mommy' and 'Thank you, ights Daddy'. I put the lights on the tree and M put the lights on the house! He was so excited. The first ornament he wanted to put on the tree was a deer. 'Shoot, dea' (shoot deer) That's what he says...every time he s

Twas the Month Before Christmas

This was sent to me is an email and I thought it was cute and very true!! Twas the Month Before Christmas When all through our land, Not a Christian was praying Nor taking a stand. See the PC Police had taken away The reason for Christmas - no one could say. The children were told by their schools not to sing About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things. It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say December 25th is just a ' Holiday '. Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it! CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod Something was changing, something quite odd! Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda. As Targets were hanging their trees upside down At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found. At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ea

Coupon Queen

Ok so my newest craze is couponing. My mother in law invited me to a couponing class a few weeks ago and I went. I had heard of couponing, but never looked into it to see how it worked. So, once I went to the class, I looked into it a little more. Wow, how easy it is to save money. All you have to do is go to a website and she tells you everything you need to know. She does all the work. You just have to decide what you want and where you want to go. So last night I went to Kroger...my store of choice. And I spent $89.00. But, I have $72 in coupons and sales!! Wow! I can get used to this. I called M and told him and then had to call someone else..so I called Dad. Call me the Coupon Queen. I can't wait for the next sale paper and coupons to come out!!! If you want to know more about it and live near me. Im going to another class this Sunday night. Or you can go on the website yourself. southersavers.com  She is very detailed and helpful. I've just done this one time, but she s

THE Wedding

Yes, It was a week ago, but blogging isn't my only chore. Last Saturday, November 6th my baby L got married. She was so beautiful! I was so honored to be apart of that day. I remember when she met J. We were all a little sceptical about it. He was a friend of a high school classmate, and it was a blind date. But they met and had a good time and it was history from there. The first time I met J, L, asked M and I to go to the Cumming Country Fair with them. M and I being country music fans were very excited to go. Because M and I started dating so long ago, he is like a big brother to L. They both bicker and protect each other like siblings. Michael kind of had a gut feeling J was going to be a good guy because he like Charlie Daniels and he knew the old country songs. After the concert we stopped my DQ, and had ice cream. For those of you that don't know, M doesn't like chocolate. Well at least that is what he says, but he will eat peanut M&M's, snickers, and browni

Two In Two Days

Two days from now you will be two years old! Over that past year you have become such a little man. You have learned so much and have really acquired a personality. At the end of November 2009, you got to meet almost all of your family on your Mommy's side. For Thanksgiving almost all of Mimi's family came into town for the weekend. March you were in Uncle Matthew's wedding. You and Tiffany's cousin's little boy were the 'stars of the show'. Everyone was so entertained by you two. You wanted to pick up all the flowers that the flower girls dropped! Starting out early summer you got to fish with your Daddy. Mother's Day we had a picnic at Lanier.  Later that month you got to ride on Paw Paw's boat. (which he soon there after sold =( )  You got to spend two weeks at the beach. Which you loved swimming and playing in the sand or in the water's edge. There you really started talking. You said 'bo' (boat), 'gactor' (tractor), 'b

My World

This is my blog that I use to update my friends and family. It's to help keep everyone connected and to update those who do not live nearby. I kind of use it to get rid of stress too! So I say this to say, I have been very selective as to who I am friends with on Facebook and who I email my blog link to, this is to protect me and my family. Notice I only use our initials when I talk about us. So, I would appericate it if you are one of the ones that I let have the link to my blog that you read it for fun and not use it against me, or share it with others to judge me or my family or the way we do things and who we are. I feel like as my friend or family member I have trusted you to open up my family to you and would hope that you would not share my life with people that I don't trust. Thank you for following us and I hope you enjoy all the little updates of ThePricePress!!

And Here We Go!

Well, we have managed to keep C out of most things that would make a mess or mess up something, but because we are packing things are out of place and just a mess here at the house. We've had dinner in the living room in from of the tv-against our rules, and Mr. C is getting into everything!!! Last night he got a hold of a permanet maker...black at that! And I promise he was not quiet for 5 minutes before I went to see what he was into. He had written on most of the boxes in the house, he had written down the hall walls, the office door, HIMSELF, a dvd cover, the top of the tv (it was on the floor), the carpet and my dish towel! So I freak out and call Michael to blame him for leaving the marker where C could reach it-to learn, I   was the last to use it! Oops! So I look up on line how to get it off of walls, doors, people, etc...IT WORKED. Nail polish remover! So I have a few pictures to share with you. My Mom said, My cousin and I used a red and black crayon on her walls! Not so

B.F.F.

I have so many people that I call a friend , not an acquaintance:  a person whom one knows but who is not a particularly close friend. I have met them through work, after all, when you work forty hours a week, they are the ones you spend all your time with. I also have others, not met at work. How do you know when a friend is a friend? Here is a quote I like: 'Everyone is a friend, until they prove otherwise.'--this is so true. A friend is a friend when... You can call on them for anything, and not feel like you owe them one, and same for them. You love them for all their faults, no matter what. You can not talk to them for a long period of time, then pick right back up where you left off. You have some things in common, but not everything. You can agree to disagree, and not think anything different of each other. You don't judge each other. They know everything about you and still like you. Friends stand up for you, when no one else does. Friends l

Fractured Fairy Tales

OK, so most of you know we are no longer going to our church here in Dawonville. But that's a different story for a very different day. Anyways, the church I've been going to, I've really enjoyed. Our current series is 'Fractured Fairy Tales'. Numbers 80:7-12. He says that fairy tales are great, but they leave us thinking we should all have happy endings. That is not the way life is. Last week was about Jacob, how he was not the one that made the bad decisions, but he was 'fractured' because of his brother's choices. God uses evil for good. Sometimes others make our fairy tale fractured. This week we talked about Moses, how he had his own idea of how he wanted things to be and he didn't obey God, therefore he fractured his fairy tale. Life is a roller coaster, no matter how much we love God. We tend to want to push the blame, or push it to the limits. When we go through our fractures, we want to blame God, or others. We are so kin to Adam and Ev

Ticky

If you are not aware, my husband is obsessed with fishing. He has passed this crazy trait, so soon might I add, to our son. C loves 'tickies'. This is what he calls fish, fishing poles, and fishing lures. He has a hat that says, Future Fisherman. And he loves it! The other day his grandmother and I were at the store and she found some socks she wanted to buy him. We were having trouble finding his size. So I dug through them and found a few little ones. They had Nemo socks. She gave them to him as soon as she got in the car. He wore them home, and to bed! He loved his ticky socks! When we got home, I was unpacking our clothes and he found them. He wanted me to put them on him, so I did. Because these socks were such a hit, I had to get a picture of two of him in them. So I said, "C, let me take a picutre of you with your fishy socks on." And here is what he did!!! He wanted me to take 'moa' (more), so he held up the other foot!

My Crazy Kid

(He's laying down on the kitchen floor, where the air vent blows the cold air!) I have on my desktop a folder labeled, Goofy C. I have always loved taking pictures! Having C has just made it that much more fun! So, because I love to do it, he has become a bit of a ham. Let me share... This, that is wrapped around him, is a gold table runner. He found it at my parent's house and was playing with it one day. M, my brother tied it around him and he loved it! So now every time we go there he gets it out and wants M, to 'buckle' it around him!! The other day I was putting away laundry and he was playing in my pool/beach bag and found these... Once I put them on him, he walked carefully to Daddy to show him! That same night, he was playing in my full length mirror. He would say, Momma! Then I would look at him and he'd laugh! He thought he was so funny, looking at me through the mirror. He loves bath time! He will play in there all day if I let him! He says, 'bubble&#

Mommy=Instant Bragging Rights!

Yeah, Yeah I know lovey dovey. But as C has gotten older I do not get to rock him to sleep as much. Every once in a while he will let me. Tonight was one of those nights. As I was rocking him I was thinking how much I love him, I can't come up with it! I could kiss his face one thousand times, and still want to do it more. I love that little booger! Growing up, at church I seemed to always have a baby on my hip. I loved babies. Well, I still do. But once you become a Mom it's so different, and you don't understand that until you are a Mom. And you can't explain it to anyone who isn't. I remember when I found out I was pregnant with C, I couldn't wait to know if he was a boy or a girl. I couldn't wait to see what he/she was going to look like. I couldn't wait to touch and hold him/her. Then when he was born, I couldn't wait to hear his voice say my name. Now, he says it a million times a day. I just love it! It has gone from 'Ma-ma', to 'M

Why I LOVE Summer!

I love laying out on the beach or by the pool I love watermellon I love wearing flip flops I love longer days I love summer thunderstorms I love hanging out on the boat I love walking on the beach at sunset I love iced tea-not that summer is the only time to drink tea I love ice cream I love wearing sunglasses I love seeing C's fat little legs I love my hubby with a tan I love having a tan I love grilling out I love the smell of sunblock-coconut! I love watching lighting bugs I love riding in the car with the windows down and the sunroof open I LOVE SUMMERTIME!!!

Where Does Time Go?

Today C is 20 months old. I can remember looking at the pregnancy test. Has it really been that long? Here are his stats. He has not been to the doctor and got his weight checked since he was 18 months. On our scale he weights about 24lbs. He's in Pampers size 5. He runs everywhere he goes! He has 16 teeth. Two crystal blue eyes, two ears, a nose aka 'honk-honk', well you get the point. He's growing up so fast!! He's not my little baby anymore. Although, last night he let me hold him like a baby and 'bottle feed' him his milk. (he was not feeling well) So I savored those few minutes. C has began talking quite a bit in the past month. While we were at the beach he picked up, thank you, please, and uh-oh. They sound a little more like-" ga oo ", " meeze ", and "oh-oh", but he knows when to use them. He was so cute the other day, Mark handed him something and with out prompting he said, " ga - oo , Bak "...He made me so

Read Much?

I am not a big reader. I remember growing up, and even still today, my Mom is such a big reader. She will pick up a book and not put it down until she's finished reading it. Yes, that means, she doesn't know what's going on around her. She gets so involved reading. I never ever liked reading. I will pick up little 'one-a-day devotional' and read it for about a week, then forget about it. I have never enjoyed reading. When we were leaving for the beach, for some reason, I wanted a book to read. So I have had this book for a while, but haven't made time to read it. 'Cracking the Communication CODE', by Emerson Eggerichs. It's book 2 of 'Love and Respect'. I didn't realize that when I got it. But you don't have to read Love and Respect to read the other. To help you understand why I picked up this book let me give you a little insight to what has gone on for me in the past three years. M lost his job. He moved away for a year and a half.

WHY?

Why? That is a question I remember Mark used to ask all the time. Why? Why? Why? We always want to know the answer. This past Monday we went to a funeral of a friend of our family, Andrew Stephens. We went to church with the family back 100 years ago. Cara, his sister, apparently babysat me. Then when we moved back to Georgia, Mrs. Nancy, his Mom, was Mark's teacher, and Mom worked with her at PGES. Also, Lindsey and I rode the school bus with Andrew. Then come to find out, he live in Michael's neighborhood. Andrew was 25 years old and was killed in a car accident last week. Why? We ask that question when things don't go our way. Why did Andrew die at such a young age? He was a father to a young boy, a son, a brother, a friend, all the above. Why was his life taken so prematurely? This summer, I lost my part time job. Why? I worked very part time. I was a fill in for when someone was sick, or out of town, or just when they needed me. There was a miscommunication and they le

233 Pictures Later

Well, for those of you who are true 'ThePricePress' followers, you've probably wondered if we'd fallen off the face of the earth. I'm here to clear that up. We have been at the beach for two weeks. We originally didn't plan for it to work out this way but it did. M, C and I planned a beach trip this summer. This is the first week vacation M and I have taken together since our honeymoon, because of work and moving and just life in general. C eating chocolate chip cookies at the wedding We left Saturday and headed down to Newborn, for a wedding. Spent Saturday night with his family, and headed out Sunday for the beach. Our destination was Pompano Beach, which is just north of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Roughly 10 and a half hours from McDonough, GA. We spent the night a couple hours north of there on Sunday night, in Ft. Pierce, to help break the trip up. Monday morning we headed further South to Pompano. All I had to do was lay him down, he was so sleepy. We checked i

Many More to Come

One more for today and I'll give it a break. Today marks a big day for me and Michael. No, it's not our wedding anniversary. But it is an anniversary for us. Today, twelve years ago, Michael asked me to go out with him. Yes, go out with him. We were in ninth grade. I was very shy. He was not. Well, except when it came down time to talk to a girl he had a crush on. I remember it was a Sunday night at church he wrote me a note and gave it to me. Like all high school girls, I ran straight to the girls bathroom, Ha! There I read the note...which I still have some where. It said something along the lines of "Do you like me?" Check "yes" or "no". Not really. But it was very short and to the point. "Do you like me?", "I like you." So I pretended I hadn't read it and just said bye like normal. I remember going home that night and Sandy Seidling was there at our house, and I told her, or maybe Lindsey's big mouth told everyone? S

Man Duties

Growing up, in our house of three girls for most of my younger years, there were things "the girls" did and things Dad did. *Note:Mark was born when I was 12, almost 13* Us girls did the cooking, or at least helped. We did the dishes, cleaned the house, did the laundry, went grocery shopping. Dad mowed the grass, trimmed the bushes, took out the trash and worked. Although, this is how I perceived it as a child, I carried that over into my adult life. Call me crazy but I like to clean-most of the time. I like to go grocery shopping and I, for the most part, enjoy cooking. Dishes on the other hand~I must have helped Mom cook most of the time and let Linds do the dishes...because I don't like to do dishes. Now, I'm not real sure how things worked at the Price's house while Mr. Michael was growing up. But when you blend his ideas and mine...they don't seem to work out the way I planned. I clean the toilets, I do the dishes, I do the laundry,I take out the trash-9

I Told You So!!

This past Thursday was Michael's birthday and next Sunday is my Dada's birthday. Also, today my cousin's little boy got baptized. I tell you all of this to tell you that Last night my Mom's side of the family all got together for fun and while we were there we also were celebrating these three things. I decided to try something new. I wanted to make a homemade cookie cake. So I bought the dough-not usually how I like to make cookies but oh, well. And I looked up on the Internet how to make one. Michael does not like chocolate so I wanted to make him a sugar cookie one. Friday night I started experimenting and had some trouble, the cookie was either too raw, or over cooked. After making three, I called it a night and was going to try again in the morning. So I did. Saturday morning I got up and tried one more time. Nope, again I couldn't get it right. So I decided to go buy more dough and go to Mom's to see if she had any expert advice. I tried again, this time b

I Guess I Just Need a Little Sympathy!

Recognize Any of These Names?? Most women (or people) would not recognize names like, Skeet Reece, KVD, Mike Iaconelli-had to look up that spelling! Let me name some more...Bill Dance, Hank Parker, Alton Jones. Anyone out there know these people? These are just a few that I can think of right now. These people are like family, we talk about them so much! Let me introduce you to my life. My husband loves to fish. When I say loves to fish, that does not really explain the passion he has for this hobby. Let me try to explain it. Obsess –verb, to think about something unceasingly or persistently; dwell obsessively upon something. There we go. Michael is obsessed with fishing. He thinks about it constantly. He watches it on television anytime he can get his hands on the remote. He talks about it, like I really want to hear about it. "Bo" is Caden's new word! AKA, boat. I have a feeling, it won't be long before I have two children obsessed with fishing. The flip side to tha

Three Wide In Turn Four

Yes, I married a redneck, so sometimes I think like one. While this has nothing to do with racing, this is the best I could come up with. Before I got pregnant with Caden, I remember hearing people talk about their kids sleeping in bed with them, and thinking---Heck, NO! There is no way. I have a hard enough time sleeping with my six foot tall husband in my bed, there is no way I would consider adding someone else. So, when I had Caden I stuck to that. We didn't do "co-sleeping". His room was attached to our room, so we let him sleep in his crib from day two, at home. The first night I was a little leary, so Mom helped me a bunch! And he did so well. He'd sleep from about 9:30pm until about 3:30am, I'd nurse him, and he'd go right back to sleep, in his bed. Then he's wake back up around 5:30am or 6:00am, when Michael was getting ready for work. Then he would snuggle up with me in my bed and go back to sleep until 8:00am or 9:00am. Pretty good for a newborn

What can I say?

Caden amazes me everyday. I don't like to say it but he's so stinkn' smart. I don't like to hear parents say, "Listen to what, ______, did, he's/she's so smart." But....Listen to what Caden can do and has been for several months now! I can ask him where his ears, hair, eyes, nose, teeth, tongue, belly, hands, fingers, feet, belly button, and toes are and he can tell me. I think it's just the cutest thing ever! So.....as much as I try to hide it, I think he's the smartest kid his age. And after spell checking this, I know where he did not get his smarts! Ha ha!

Mo!

Ok, so I'm going to make up for lost time. Caden said "Dada", and "Mama" when he was about six months old. Then there was a big gap between when he said his next few words. Well, "Bak" didn't come much later, aka Mark. In March he really started saying things, well the first part of the word. He learned Pup-pup, boat, bird, bath, duck, ball, boo-boo, bye-bye, book, and MO! (and more that I can't think of) It's so fun to see how he picks up on things. He understands sooo much of what I say to him. He has learned that when he wants MO, whether it be milk, food, candy, whatever it is. All he has to say is MO! and he gets more! How quickly he learned that! He's just so darn cute! Here are a few fun pics, just for fun!

Meltdown!

Well it's been forever since I've posted something. We've been busy, and when we are not busy, we are resting. That's my excuse! =) Caden just turned 18 months on the 1st. At his 12 month check up they told us that the "terrible two" are beginning and to watch out! Terrible two? No, not my sweet Caden. He's too sweet and laid back for that. And besides, I thought they started when they were two, not on their way to two. OK, so within the last month or two, Caden has begun to have these "meltdowns". They can happen anytime, day or night. Sleepy, or well rested. At home or in public. With family, or with people at church! It's just when he doesn't get his way. (But mainly when he wants to be outside.) Today we went outside for just a few minutes to get some fresh air, and let him play. By the way he LOVES outside. So I keep him on the front porch so he can stay out of the sun, and so I don't have to chase him all over Dahlonega-because,

Happy January!!

Well, we started our New Year with shrimp and steak kabobs @ The Melton's. Michael had to work that next morning, so he came and ate, then went home to bed! Party Pooper! Then that next Sunday he left us for a week. He had what is called POST, in Macon. It is a furthering education course. He gets to know more things and make more money!! Yay! So that was a long week without Daddy! We still had fun without him, thanks to the snow!!! We got almost an inch!!! You norther ners won't understand, but all my Florida people do! We played in it both Thursday and Friday! Caden had a blast! He just walked everywhere! And we slid down a hill, redneck stlye, on a cardboard box! Great fun! Well that is it so far for January! We are ready to see what God has in store for us this year! We don't have too much planned, except for @ the end of the month, I'm going to Demorest, GA, for a ladies retreat. This will be my first time leaving Caden for the night! I'm not thrilled about it,
