Well, for those of you who are true 'ThePricePress' followers, you've probably wondered if we'd fallen off the face of the earth. I'm here to clear that up. We have been at the beach for two weeks.

We originally didn't plan for it to work out this way but it did. M, C and I planned a beach trip this summer. This is the first week vacation M and I have taken together since our honeymoon, because of work and moving and just life in general.

We left Saturday and headed down to Newborn, for a wedding. Spent Saturday night with his family, and headed out Sunday for the beach. Our destination was Pompano Beach, which is just north of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Roughly 10 and a half hours from McDonough, GA. We spent the night a couple hours north of there on Sunday night, in Ft. Pierce, to help break the trip up. Monday morning we headed further South to Pompano.

All I had to do was lay him down, he was so sleepy.

We checked in there at 2pm, then my cousin and her family joined us. Lauren and her husband, Chad have two boys. Gabe, 7 and Max, 9 months. C enjoyed having a little one to pick on and a big one to mimic. M and I also enjoyed Chad and Lauren's company. Where the resort was located, we were between the Inter Coastal Waterway (ICW) and the ocean. So out our balcony you could see both. We could see all the boats driving in and out of the ICW and C loved that. He woke up one day from his nap, saying 'bo'.

M and Chad fished or golfed each morning...not what I had in mind when M was planning all this, but...
The first morning, Lauren and I fed the boys, took them and a U-Haul down to the beach and pool for a couple hours, then vowed never to do that again. We were sweating before we got off the elevator to even walk outside. So the next three mornings, the 'men' went and were to be back before it was beach time. So each day, we'd beach then pool for a while, then take the boys in to eat and nap. Then once we were ready to go back out it started raining, so he just hung out until dinner time. Two of the night, we took turns and went out as a couple without the kids.

Our night to babysit.

Friday, the my cousin and her family had to leave. It started raining around 4ish, so they when ahead and bathed and packed and headed out a little sooner than planned. It stopped raining so we went back out for a little bit. M dug a huge hole and C had so much fun playing in it. Saturday was our last day there so we got up and ate breakfast, then beached it for most of the day, and M dug the hole again, but bigger. We did some pool, but it got so hot. M took C in for their naps. I stayed out at the pool for a little bit longer, but it was sweltering out there, so I came in. They slept for about 3 hours. I fixed dinner then it did it's usual evening rain, so went for ice cream. I, a somewhat chocolate lover, ate a Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard and M, a not so much, chocolate lover, ate a Golden Oreo Blizzard. We each shared ours with C. He would take a bit, then ask for 'mo'. M would offer him his and C would refuse it, he wanted 'mo' of mine! Seeing how it had chocolate and M's didn't, I would venture to say, he likes chocolate.

Sunday, check out was at 10am, so we head out for Daytona. That drive was about 4 hours from Pompano. We stopped on the way for lunch at 'Our Place Down Under', a seafood place on the Halifax River, so C got to see so many boats on our trip. We then headed to the resort where Dad, Mom, Lindsey and Mark were staying. Lindsey had to be at work on Wednesday and M had to be at work on Thursday so they stayed until Tuesday. C and I stayed with Dad, Mom, and Mark. So yes that adds up to 9 full days at the beach for us!

Each day there, we'd get up around 9ish, go sit on the beach until about 1pm, then we'd take a dip in the pool for a little bit, then we'd go in and eat lunch, and C would go down for his nap. Mom and I went back out sat on the beach, Mark, and Dad have fair skin so the would stay in during the hottest part of the day to keep from getting burned. Monday it was overcast and I got burnt. I sat out all day with one coat of SPF 15 and my legs got too much sun. So Tuesday, I stayed under the umbrella. Wednesday, my sunburn felt worse so I didn't go out until about 2pm. C loved both the beach and the pool. Two of the evenings we walked up and down the beach-my favorite time to take pictures. The sun is setting and it's just beautiful! While we were walking, C was so funny. He's chase Mark and copy what he was doing. Jumping, clapping, dancing, etc. Another thing he would do was lay down in the sand. I don't know if it was cool, or if the texture was what he was feeling or what, but it was so funny. He did it in the wet and dry sand.

C loves his Uncle Mark and love does not descirbe it enough. He mimics him so much, when he's in the room, no one else is according to C. On our way home we stopped at Burger King. Caden had never played in one of their playgrounds before. (I'm a germaphobe) But we had been in the car and he needed to run around, and no one else was in there. So his great Uncle Mark helped him through the tunnels and through the slides!! C had a blast!

We're Back!

So I wanted to try to start blogging again. I went to my blog and I can't figure out how to work it. It's different, and I couldn't make it cute. So have moved back to Blogger. Here we are. This is my favorite time of year to do fun Pinterest crafts, so watch out! I will try to feed the family and wash clothes, but for the most part, you can find me some where doing a DIY project. 'Til then-Bye!

Roller Coaster Ride

It's just that. We knew getting into this it would have ups and downs. Lots of waiting, and wondering. I was talking to a friend of ours that is adopting as well, and she said, 'Welcome to the roller coaster that is adoption'. She's right. I thought about a song I knew from when I was younger. (I still have the cassette...) It's called Roller Coaster Ride, but 4HIM. Life is a roller coaster. Music speaks so much to me!! As you go through highs and lows And all that's in between The Lord alone is in control Of this big scream machine We told our closest family and friends early on.  We wanted prayers, and support!  We got that right away from everyone!  My sister's, friend's Mom (complicated, I know.) knew of a baby that was born and the mother had already lots her birth rights. We thought we had a lead. A potential baby could be ours.   Yes, one week after we had made our first official step towards adoption.  I pretty much checked my phone...

Ready, Set, Home Study!

Home study is a term we have learned since being apart of the adoption world.  We applied to have ours on Monday and they called back yesterday and we set it up for next week.  We know it's a lot of paper work and that we will have to do finger prints, and background checks, but that is all we know for now. We are looking into some fundraisers as well.  I will keep you posted about those as soon as we decide.
