I Told You So!!

This past Thursday was Michael's birthday and next Sunday is my Dada's birthday. Also, today my cousin's little boy got baptized. I tell you all of this to tell you that Last night my Mom's side of the family all got together for fun and while we were there we also were celebrating these three things. I decided to try something new. I wanted to make a homemade cookie cake. So I bought the dough-not usually how I like to make cookies but oh, well. And I looked up on the Internet how to make one. Michael does not like chocolate so I wanted to make him a sugar cookie one. Friday night I started experimenting and had some trouble, the cookie was either too raw, or over cooked. After making three, I called it a night and was going to try again in the morning. So I did. Saturday morning I got up and tried one more time. Nope, again I couldn't get it right. Roller Coaster Ride

It's just that. We knew getting into this it would have ups and downs. Lots of waiting, and wondering. I was talking to a friend of ours that is adopting as well, and she said, 'Welcome to the roller coaster that is adoption'. She's right. I thought about a song I knew from when I was younger. (I still have the cassette...) It's called Roller Coaster Ride, but 4HIM. Life is a roller coaster. Music speaks so much to me!! As you go through highs and lows And all that's in between The Lord alone is in control Of this big scream machine We told our closest family and friends early on.  We wanted prayers, and support!  We got that right away from everyone!  My sister's, friend's Mom (complicated, I know.) knew of a baby that was born and the mother had already lots her birth rights. Four Months Late... Who's Counting?

I love throwing Caden's birthday party! I love to let him pick a theme and then we run with it. He is very creative and helps me with a lot of the planning. Yes, He's was 4, but it's his party. No, I didn't take all his ideas. Maybe just one. But we had fun. This year we did a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle party! YES TMNT ! Just where did he learn about them? He found a stash of his Daddy's old VHS movies. We have a DVD/VHS combo so we get to watch a lot of the classics. He had only watched a few, but he fell in love with them. So about the time we were planning his party he was watching the movies about two times a day. Interesting enough they were coming back! Yes, Like in the stores. Way better, too! Invites I found a cute photo online and printed them in a 4x4 square. I used 'Paint' to make the pizza. Took them to Office Depot and they printed them. I made a 'pizza box' out of card stock.
