Man Duties

Growing up, in our house of three girls for most of my younger years, there were things "the girls" did and things Dad did. *Note:Mark was born when I was 12, almost 13*
Us girls did the cooking, or at least helped. We did the dishes, cleaned the house, did the laundry, went grocery shopping. Dad mowed the grass, trimmed the bushes, took out the trash and worked.

Although, this is how I perceived it as a child, I carried that over into my adult life. Call me crazy but I like to clean-most of the time. I like to go grocery shopping and I, for the most part, enjoy cooking. Dishes on the other hand~I must have helped Mom cook most of the time and let Linds do the dishes...because I don't like to do dishes.
Now, I'm not real sure how things worked at the Price's house while Mr. Michael was growing up. But when you blend his ideas and mine...they don't seem to work out the way I planned.

I clean the toilets, I do the dishes, I do the laundry,I take out the trash-90% of the time. I don't like taking out the trash!! We both cook, he drags me along while he grocery shops. But he does cut the grass, and work. Men are supposed to do the Man Duties. Maybe I'm old school.

When I was little I wanted to be a nurse or a teacher. And I most definitely wanted to be a Mommy. My Mommy had a pretty cool job. She stayed home with us and once we went to school, she did too. Really-she started working at our school.
I fulfilled my "dream". I became a nurse/medical assistant, and now I'm a Mommy. And thanks to my Hubby, I'm able to stay home and be a Mommy full time!I don't bring home a pay check, but WOW, the rewards I get are the greatest!! I want to do my Woman Duties, so let me do them! You do your Man Duties-take out the trash!(Love you Michael!)

We're Back!

So I wanted to try to start blogging again. I went to my blog and I can't figure out how to work it. It's different, and I couldn't make it cute. So have moved back to Blogger. Here we are. This is my favorite time of year to do fun Pinterest crafts, so watch out! I will try to feed the family and wash clothes, but for the most part, you can find me some where doing a DIY project. 'Til then-Bye!

Roller Coaster Ride

It's just that. We knew getting into this it would have ups and downs. Lots of waiting, and wondering. I was talking to a friend of ours that is adopting as well, and she said, 'Welcome to the roller coaster that is adoption'. She's right. I thought about a song I knew from when I was younger. (I still have the cassette...) It's called Roller Coaster Ride, but 4HIM. Life is a roller coaster. Music speaks so much to me!! As you go through highs and lows And all that's in between The Lord alone is in control Of this big scream machine We told our closest family and friends early on.  We wanted prayers, and support!  We got that right away from everyone!  My sister's, friend's Mom (complicated, I know.) knew of a baby that was born and the mother had already lots her birth rights. We thought we had a lead. A potential baby could be ours.   Yes, one week after we had made our first official step towards adoption.  I pretty much checked my phone...

Ready, Set, Home Study!

Home study is a term we have learned since being apart of the adoption world.  We applied to have ours on Monday and they called back yesterday and we set it up for next week.  We know it's a lot of paper work and that we will have to do finger prints, and background checks, but that is all we know for now. We are looking into some fundraisers as well.  I will keep you posted about those as soon as we decide.
