Man Duties

Growing up, in our house of three girls for most of my younger years, there were things "the girls" did and things Dad did. *Note:Mark was born when I was 12, almost 13*
Us girls did the cooking, or at least helped. We did the dishes, cleaned the house, did the laundry, went grocery shopping. Dad mowed the grass, trimmed the bushes, took out the trash and worked.

Although, this is how I perceived it as a child, I carried that over into my adult life. Call me crazy but I like to clean-most of the time. I like to go grocery shopping and I, for the most part, enjoy cooking. Dishes on the other hand~I must have helped Mom cook most of the time and let Linds do the dishes...because I don't like to do dishes.
Now, I'm not real sure how things worked at the Price's house while Mr. Michael was growing up. But when you blend his ideas and mine...they don't seem to work out the way I planned.

I clean the toilets, I do the dishes, I do the laundry,I take out the trash-90% of the time. I don't like taking out the trash!! We both cook, he drags me along while he grocery shops. But he does cut the grass, and work. Men are supposed to do the Man Duties. Maybe I'm old school.

When I was little I wanted to be a nurse or a teacher. And I most definitely wanted to be a Mommy. My Mommy had a pretty cool job. She stayed home with us and once we went to school, she did too. Really-she started working at our school.
I fulfilled my "dream". I became a nurse/medical assistant, and now I'm a Mommy. And thanks to my Hubby, I'm able to stay home and be a Mommy full time!I don't bring home a pay check, but WOW, the rewards I get are the greatest!! I want to do my Woman Duties, so let me do them! You do your Man Duties-take out the trash!(Love you Michael!)

Home Study. Step 1

We had our first step of our home study at the end of May.  Home study, like I have said before is 'home study' is an adoption term. I am learning them as I go. Some I still don't get. Home study, I only know step 1. I will learn as we go. Part 2 is our individual meeting.  We went and met with our, I guess she's called a case worker, on Thursday afternoon before we headed to the beach for Memorial Day weekend.  We met at a local restaurant, on the patio. It was so relaxed. I was a little nervous. Telling someone you had never met your dreams and about your 'history'. She stated that by the end she will know way more about us than we want her to know. We just talked a little bit about what we had in mind, and she went through a page and a half of 'to-do's'.  We have to get lots of documents, certificates, questionnaires, letters, physicals, fingerprints, verification's, photos of us and our home, etc.  We have no deadlines so that makes things...

Four Months Late... Who's Counting?

I love throwing Caden's birthday party! I love to let him pick a theme and then we run with it. He is very creative and helps me with a lot of the planning. Yes, He's was 4, but it's his party. No, I didn't take all his ideas. Maybe just one. But we had fun. This year we did a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle party! YES TMNT ! Just where did he learn about them? He found a stash of his Daddy's old VHS movies. We have a DVD/VHS combo so we get to watch a lot of the classics. He had only watched a few, but he fell in love with them. So about the time we were planning his party he was watching the movies about two times a day. Interesting enough they were coming back! Yes, Like in the stores. Way better, too! Invites I found a cute photo online and printed them in a 4x4 square. I used 'Paint' to make the pizza. Took them to Office Depot and they printed them. I made a 'pizza box' out of card stock. Don't ask me how I did it, I just folded an...

What can I say?

Caden amazes me everyday. I don't like to say it but he's so stinkn' smart. I don't like to hear parents say, "Listen to what, ______, did, he's/she's so smart." But....Listen to what Caden can do and has been for several months now! I can ask him where his ears, hair, eyes, nose, teeth, tongue, belly, hands, fingers, feet, belly button, and toes are and he can tell me. I think it's just the cutest thing ever! So.....as much as I try to hide it, I think he's the smartest kid his age. And after spell checking this, I know where he did not get his smarts! Ha ha!
