I Told You So!!

This past Thursday was Michael's birthday and next Sunday is my Dada's birthday. Also, today my cousin's little boy got baptized. I tell you all of this to tell you that Last night my Mom's side of the family all got together for fun and while we were there we also were celebrating these three things.
I decided to try something new. I wanted to make a homemade cookie cake. So I bought the dough-not usually how I like to make cookies but oh, well. And I looked up on the Internet how to make one. Michael does not like chocolate so I wanted to make him a sugar cookie one.
Friday night I started experimenting and had some trouble, the cookie was either too raw, or over cooked. After making three, I called it a night and was going to try again in the morning. So I did. Saturday morning I got up and tried one more time. Nope, again I couldn't get it right. So I decided to go buy more dough and go to Mom's to see if she had any expert advice. I tried again, this time being a little more successful. I made two chocolate chip cookie cakes. Now I just had one more to make, the sugar cookie one. I only had about an hour left, so I cooked it. Meanwhile, I iced the chocolate chip ones. One for Dada and one for Gabe. The sugar cookie on would not cook up right, so I began to panic and try to cook it, all while being rushed by Mr. Price. By the way, I am not usually a last minute person, but as you can tell, I was having some problems!!
It was time to leave and the sugar cookie was still not all the way cooked. Oh, well that was Michael's, I had already made him a birthday cake for his birthday, he'll understand and that way we can leave.
OK, load up Caden, all his bags, his drinks, make sure he's in a dry diaper. Lock the doors, sign the cards, turn off all the fans and lights. (Meanwhile, Michael is thumbing through Mark's yearbook.) "Michael you grab Caden!" Load up the car!!
We are headed to Canton, just on the minute. Let's go!!!
Half way there. "Michael, did you get the basket with the cookie cake?"-Holly
"No, you told me to get Caden."-Michael In Holly's head....I got the bags, locked the doors, turned out the lights, changed Caden....
So you guessed it! I spend two days making cookie cakes. Ended up making six. Four of which didn't turn out. And here we are on our way and no cookie cakes ere going to the get together!!!
So I have taken pictures of these cakes so I can say. I don't usually like to say this but, I TOLD YOU SO!!
(Here they are....Dada's name is a little messed up from the foil)

Let's Recap 2010

This will kind of give you an idea of how I think. When I reflect on 2010, of course all the really big, or most recent things come to mind- L got married, Christmas was wonderful, we had a blast at the beach, we moved, and so on. But to really sit down and look over 2010 I just run down month by month and look at all my pictures. I wish I had a way to count all the pictures I took-it would take days!! So here is a fun recap of THEPRICEPRESS 2010 January 7th was the first snow! February 12th it snowed again! March it snowed some more!! In March we went with some friends (with $1 seats) to Atlanta Motor Speedway and got to see one of the biggest accidents of the season right in front of us...Redneck I know! March 20th M's brother got married!! April we got to celebrate Jesus's Resurrection. And my 27th birthday. May we had lots of ups and downs-M started working nights, and it really was not a fun adjustment!! And he turned 27th, too! =) June we went to the beach for sev...

Meltdown!

Well it's been forever since I've posted something. We've been busy, and when we are not busy, we are resting. That's my excuse! =) Caden just turned 18 months on the 1st. At his 12 month check up they told us that the "terrible two" are beginning and to watch out! Terrible two? No, not my sweet Caden. He's too sweet and laid back for that. And besides, I thought they started when they were two, not on their way to two. OK, so within the last month or two, Caden has begun to have these "meltdowns". They can happen anytime, day or night. Sleepy, or well rested. At home or in public. With family, or with people at church! It's just when he doesn't get his way. (But mainly when he wants to be outside.) Today we went outside for just a few minutes to get some fresh air, and let him play. By the way he LOVES outside. So I keep him on the front porch so he can stay out of the sun, and so I don't have to chase him all over Dahlonega-because,...

We're Back!

So I wanted to try to start blogging again. I went to my blog and I can't figure out how to work it. It's different, and I couldn't make it cute. So have moved back to Blogger. Here we are. This is my favorite time of year to do fun Pinterest crafts, so watch out! I will try to feed the family and wash clothes, but for the most part, you can find me some where doing a DIY project. 'Til then-Bye!
