I Guess I Just Need a Little Sympathy!

Recognize Any of These Names??
Most women (or people) would not recognize names like, Skeet Reece, KVD, Mike Iaconelli-had to look up that spelling! Let me name some more...Bill Dance, Hank Parker, Alton Jones. Anyone out there know these people? These are just a few that I can think of right now. These people are like family, we talk about them so much!
Let me introduce you to my life.
My husband loves to fish. When I say loves to fish, that does not really explain the passion he has for this hobby. Let me try to explain it.
Obsess –verb, to think about something unceasingly or persistently; dwell obsessively upon something. There we go. Michael is obsessed with fishing. He thinks about it constantly. He watches it on television anytime he can get his hands on the remote. He talks about it, like I really want to hear about it. "Bo" is Caden's new word! AKA, boat. I have a feeling, it won't be long before I have two children obsessed with fishing. The flip side to that is one day, I will have my "Me Time"!! Oh, I almost forgot to mention, he reads on the Internet, fishing reports, daily, of people that are fishing guides on the lake. OMG!
Michael is always looking outside to see if the weather is perfect enough to go out on the lake.
Guess what, we even have those creatures hanging on a wall in our house. Yep, I let that happen only because he paid so stinking much to have them mounted, I'd hate for them to get messed up. So they are not front and center in the living room, but they are in one of the bedrooms.
I could probably tell you 15 types of lures. I could tell you, well, I won't bore you with anymore of those crazy details, that I have to listen to all the time.

I wish he would put some of the energy in to mowing the grass, or doing some laundry. Hanging some of my pictures on the wall. I have a long "honey-do" list he could work on! Hey, pick up the Bible. I bet you could find a fishing story in there!

Michael was asked the other day, "If you do being doing what ever you wanted, What would it be?" Any guesses? Yep, a Professional Angler! I like the salary: Skeet Reece's, Avg. Per Tourney: $15,963.00, each tourney last maybe 4-6 hours...that's a nice pay check!
Michael already knows the boat he's fishing from, who he wants to sponsor him, blah, blah, blah! He even has tried to plan us a vacay, in the Florida Keys, so he can fish there!
One last thing. For one of my birthday's, Michael, with the help of my Mom, planned me a surprise birthday party. He had everyone from our youth group at my parent's house and then he took me there. Side note: when you are 16-17, I don't remember, what kind of gifts do girls like from their boyfriend? Jewelry? I don't know, girly things? Well, does anyone want to guess what Holly got? .........
A fishing pole. I was so embarrassed. Everyone from my youth group was there and I got a stinkn' fishing pole from my bf! Later I asked my Mom why she thought I got a fishing pole. She said, "Because he loves to fish and wants you to do it with him." Really? I have been fishing before and I really do enjoy it. I must say, I'm pretty good. But I don't want a fishing pole for my birthday! I wouldn't but him a pedicure.
This is in honor of Michael today. Guess where he is. He took the day of work, not to spend with his human family, but his fish friends. You will never understand this obsession until you are directly effected.

Three Wide In Turn Four

Yes, I married a redneck, so sometimes I think like one. While this has nothing to do with racing, this is the best I could come up with. Before I got pregnant with Caden, I remember hearing people talk about their kids sleeping in bed with them, and thinking---Heck, NO! There is no way. I have a hard enough time sleeping with my six foot tall husband in my bed, there is no way I would consider adding someone else. So, when I had Caden I stuck to that. We didn't do "co-sleeping". His room was attached to our room, so we let him sleep in his crib from day two, at home. The first night I was a little leary, so Mom helped me a bunch! And he did so well. He'd sleep from about 9:30pm until about 3:30am, I'd nurse him, and he'd go right back to sleep, in his bed. Then he's wake back up around 5:30am or 6:00am, when Michael was getting ready for work. Then he would snuggle up with me in my bed and go back to sleep until 8:00am or 9:00am. Pretty good for a newborn...

One Step Closer

2013 I don't even remember where I left off.  August I started back to work.  I am working at the school where the kids go.  I feel like I blinked and three months went by.  Adding another one to our everyday - makes us feel so much busier.  So with that being said that is why, again, I am behind on our updates! 10/26 I met with our caseworker this week, finally. Saturday she came to our house to do our final step of our Home Study.  She just had to legally say our home was safe for us to adopt.   This week our attorney should be getting the parental surrender of rights from her mom.  That will give us the go ahead on getting everything legal so we can be her legal parents.  Halloween and Caden's birthday are both coming up so we are gearing up for both of those.  I made the kids costumes this year.  They are going to be Peter Pan and Tinkerbell.  They are going to be so adorable!  Caden wants so bad to h...

Roller Coaster Ride

It's just that. We knew getting into this it would have ups and downs. Lots of waiting, and wondering. I was talking to a friend of ours that is adopting as well, and she said, 'Welcome to the roller coaster that is adoption'. She's right. I thought about a song I knew from when I was younger. (I still have the cassette...) It's called Roller Coaster Ride, but 4HIM. Life is a roller coaster. Music speaks so much to me!! As you go through highs and lows And all that's in between The Lord alone is in control Of this big scream machine We told our closest family and friends early on.  We wanted prayers, and support!  We got that right away from everyone!  My sister's, friend's Mom (complicated, I know.) knew of a baby that was born and the mother had already lots her birth rights. We thought we had a lead. A potential baby could be ours.   Yes, one week after we had made our first official step towards adoption.  I pretty much checked my phone...
